Brazil 2012 Sept 15-22

Preaching in a Favela in Portuguese. They are shantytowns built up the hills of Rio. Lots of climbing. Google Favela.

These girls were adorable. They're mom took some magazines.

All three had their magazines and were reading them.

Everywhere we went we were allowed to read scriptures and leave literature. The people love that someone is showing them attention.

Not Foster Farm chickens.

Houses are built on top of houses.

Houses built around the surrondings

One of my favorite pictures ever.

But you gotta see where she was really standing. Regina had a full conversation with the householder. Leaning over a high drop to the householder while the householder leaned out the window to her. Shared 2 or 3 scriptures and then handed her the magazines. It was amazing. They are so receptive here!

Everyone and everything has its spot.

They have a square dedicated to Michael Jackson. In one of his films he shot some of it in this little plaza in the Favela.

Even MJ didn't go unpreached to. Finally someone in English for us.

The service group

Even here there is art.

Showers wherever you can find it. If only J had his soap.
That afternoon Jason gave a public talk to the Copacabana English Cong.
Afterwards a group of us went to dinner

Sunday in Ipanema. These people are serious about getting to the beach on the weekends! (And this is their winter. Imagine Summertime.)

Tijuca Forest with Regina and Camila. Beautiful forest and waterfalls.

Waterfall through the sun rays.

This is a petal from a tree. Beautiful huh?

Soccer night is VERY important.

Sylvia and Bree

First you see it. Then you don't. The three of us shared this yummy sourdough bowl filled with tender beef and onions. Right down to the last bite.

Plotting the next part of our trip.

Jason plotting something else.
